There are several organizations who are working toward "progressive values".
Now, we need to recognize that the term "Progressive" has been hijacked such that it is no longer clear what it means. The same thing is true of the term "Liberal" where "Neo-Liberals" include politicians like Maggie Thatcher (the former prime minister of Great Britain who started the Falklands war).
On this blog, "progressive" means that "We are All In This Together". In other words, on this blog "Progressive" means caring for the "little guy" and even the "littlest guy". So, the following groups appear to be "Progressive" and working for the "Other 98%".
Brand New Congress is recruiting candidates to run against EVERYONE in congress. While there are probably many members in Congress who support the "little guy", it is important to make them prove it every, single day. You might consider that Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia is about to vote for several of Trump's cabinet appointments. It is up to you to decide whether or not the fact that he voted for the CEO of Exxon to become the Secretary of State is a betrayal of "Progressive" values or not. It is not a simple question.
Our Revolution is the organization that came out of Bernie Sanders campaign for President. This group, like "Brand New Congress" is trying to recruit candidates to stand up to the Fascists who currently occupy the White House.
Wellstone was established after the death of Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone in a small airplane crash in 2002 which resulted in Norm Coleman being be elected to Congress. The voters of Minnesota recognized Coleman for the Fascist he was and in 2008 voted Al Franken (who was a great friend of Paul Wellstone) to replace the corporatist Coleman. Several organizations promise to provide candidates with the training they need to successfully be elected to office. Wellstone is a group of people who remember Paul Wellstone as the crusader he was.
Justice Democrats believes that Democrats who might be called "DINOs" (Democrats in Name Only) need to be primaried and replaced. This is a very difficult question to deal with. Some want the Democratic Party to "tolerate" those like Senator Joe Minchin (West Virginia) who often take positions contrary to the wishes of "the rest of us", but who call themselves Democrats and will, on occasion support the Democratic Party policies. It is a question of tolerating the "Devil you know". On the other hand, this group is an excellent way to push those policies that Hawaii Democrats promote.
