Welcome to the 16-2 Democrats Blog

Local Groups

There are so many organizations that are also working to promote policies that will:
"form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity"
it is impossible to list them all.  Those listed here may be national, state wide or local chapters of other national and state organizations.  Some of them may be your friends and neighbors.

Indivisible was formed by former staffers of Democratic members of Congress.  They explain the best way of contacting your Representatives.  There are three (3) groups that have been formed on Kauai to support this national group.  Click on the "Local Groups" button to find out more about them.  You might want to consider forming your own group.  Even if you have only 8 members, it gives you a forum where to you talk to each other about the events that are happening in our country. Think of it as an alternative to your "Bridge Club".  We are all in this together.

Doctor Stephen Kemble is involved with a group, Healthcare for all Hawaii, that is devoted to establishing single-payer healthcare in Hawaii.  The state legislature was working on this before the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was passed by Congress.  Now that the Republicans have committed themselves to eliminating Obamacare, resulting in millions of Americans no longer having insurance, we must organize to take care of Hawaii by itself.  We are all in this together.

Alan Crammatte has been hosting a web conference call over the last year every Sunday night.  He has over 90 members on his list, although not that many participate every week.  Still, it is an excellent way of discovering what is going on in the State of Hawaii.  Just being on his email list is educational.  We are all in this together.

Kauai Democratic Party  Feel free to send emails to the officers to let them know your position on any issue.

Democratic Party of Hawaii  Follow the legislative priorities of the party and feel free to contact the State Central Committee members with your issues.
